I’m Luke Camozzi, the proud owner of Camozzi Films.
I look forward to sharing my story and I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better. While I’ve been in the video production industry for a few years, my passion for film and storytelling goes way back to my school days. I started shooting and editing short videos along with friends when I was a teenager, and by the time I finished high school, I was certain that I was going to work in the video industry.
After I graduated from college and earned a B.A. in Film and Media Production, I found work with a corporate video production and wedding video company as head of production. It was here I learned some of the ropes of this business. I interacted with clients, scheduled shoots, shot interviews and edited many hours of footage. I also produced two TV commercials with the company. It was here that I also started shooting weddings.
Once I acquired the practical knowledge I needed to know about the industry, I decided to start my own company. With my own venture, I am free to create videos in my unique way, instead of following someone else’s vision and templates. Moreover, through my own business, I’ve been able to help people be heard and tell their stories through my artistic process.
I’ve been working full time as a self-employed video producer for about two years now, and I’ve enjoyed every part of this experience. My main focus is music videos, and corporate videos, but I still shoot weddings because they are super fun and rewarding. When I compare my present career to what I did in the past, I always end up wishing that I’d started working for myself sooner. However, the experiences that I’ve had in the past have really helped me grow.
When I first started my business, I was working multiple other jobs to stay afloat. I’m doing much better now, but it can still be a struggle during the slow periods. Fortunately, as the quality of work is gradually gaining acknowledgment, the demand for my services is also increasing.
One of the best parts about producing videos and films is seeing projects comes together exactly how I envisioned them. Also, when a client and I click or they offer me creative liberties to do what’s best for them, I feel proud and happy to be doing the work I do. My attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile for clients has helped me succeed over the years. However, seeing that I’ve completely satisfied my customers with the first draft of a video motivates me every day. I love hitting it out of the park on the first try. It really gets me excited about my work and the potential of my creativity.
When I am not producing videos, I like going to concerts. I usually enjoy going to see punk rock bands perform as the energy is refreshing and electric. During my downtime, I also love snowboarding, skateboarding, watching movies, and traveling.
As a free-spirited individual, I can’t stand intolerance and close-mindedness. As a result, it’s my personal goal to spread positivity and laughter everywhere I go. Once I have the reach that I am working towards, I hope to use my work to educate and promote the understanding of issues like economics, homelessness, and racism. That way, we can all work on a global level to make sure everyone enjoys the life they are living.
